Nashville musician Steve Wariner plays host in this one-hour documentary tribute to the legendary virtuoso guitarist Chet Atkins. The man known as “Mr. Guitar” and “The Country Gentleman” is fondly remembered in this intimate portrait, tracing his roots and early days performing at the Grand Ol’ Opry, his early recordings, and his role as head producer for RCA in Nashville, leading to the creation of “The Nashville Sound,” which expanded country music’s appeal worldwide.
Filmed in Nashville’s historic RCA Studio B — home to the Atkins roster of recorded music legends Elvis Presley, Eddy Arnold, Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers and others — viewers can get an insider’s perspective from those who knew him best: guitarists John Knowles, Doyle Dykes, Duane Eddy, Jimmy Capps, Pat Bergeson and Richard Smith join Steve Wariner to reflect on the greatness of Atkins’ talent, his work ethic, and most of all the music and its influence.
